MANDUKA YOGA MATS
How do I clean my Manduka eKO™ yoga mat?
The eKO™ mat can be cleaned by wiping it down with an
organic mat cleaning solution. We recommend you use Manduka's Mat
Restore mat cleaner. This comes in two fragrances. Revitalizing Pine and
Calming Floral. Alternatively you can mix water and organic cider
vinegar (50/50) and wipe the mat down with that. Never use solvent based
cleaners on your eKO.
DO NOT leave your mat with moisture on it. If you wipe or wash it, make sure you dry it.
It is recommended that you DO NOT put the eKO™ mat in a
washing machine as this will encourage the material to biodegrade and
can cause the dual layers to come apart. Likewise do not take it in the
shower with you!
DO NOT leave your eKO™ exposed to excessive amounts of
sunlight or heat (for example don't leave your mat in your car if it is
parked in sunlight for any length of time) as this can cause the rubber
to biodegrade and the dual surfaces to come apart.
How do I clean my Black Mat PRO® yoga mat?
Any non-solvent household cleaner and a damp cloth can be
used to clean the Black Mat PRO. The other option is to keep a bottle of
Manduka Mat
Renew cleaning solution on hand and wipe your mat down with
this after
your practice. This comes in two fragrances, Energizing
Gingergrass and Soothing Citrus. DO NOT put your Black Mat PRO in the washing machine- it will break it!
MYSORE YOGA MATS
How do I wash my Mysore cotton yoga mat?
All of our Practice Rugs are 100% cotton and can be washed in a standard washing machine on GENTLE CYCLE in COLD WATER ONLY. Or, they are best washed in a tub of cold water with a light, natural detergent and hung to dry. Please note: We have had 2 cases of people washing their rugs in a top-loading washing machine, where the churner of the machine has caught the fringes and pulled the fringes off of the rugs, so we suggest using your best judgement if washing them in a top-loading machine since there is a slight risk of this happening to you. Thousands of others have been washed in a top-loading machine with great success. If you are in a hurry, it is ok to throw your damp washed rug into a gentle dryer to expedite your drying time, but many like to take their damp rugs to class to achieve better traction. Rugs will tighten up with washing and drying, but do not shrink. They loosen with use.

We recommend you only spin them gently and then line dry out of direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry these products as they may shrink slightly.
